Welcome to Challah on the Hudson

Our Story
A home-based bakery in Kingston, NY, Challah on the Hudson started as, and still is, a labor of love. My son Marc once asked if I would try to make challah for our family. I did, and then the word spread after our challah was served at a local event. Since 2011, we have been perfecting the recipe. The name Challah on the Hudson was the brainchild of my husband Jeremy to show that we are located near the Hudson River. Challah on the Hudson is certified by the New York State Department of Agriculture.
– Rhona Schiffres, founder and proprietor
All challah is baked to order, as we are not a retail outlet. Please order 36-48 hours in advance. All orders must be made by phone, email or Facebook direct message. See contact information below.
Our Products
When Challah on the Hudson started, we offered only plain challah, raisin challah and seeded challah. Then we got creative, and we now also offer several specialty varieties. (See list below.) And our appeal has expanded from use on the Jewish Sabbath and holidays to countless occasions and other holidays. We’ve also become a favorite among “foodies” in New York’s Hudson Valley and beyond.
